Over 130,000 refugees were settled in the United States after the Vietnam War—a completely inadequate number. Step 1 was taking them out of harm's way to Guam for processing. Even compared against earlier failures to keep our word, we're doing terribly by Afghanistan.https://twitter.com/jeremyslevin/status/1429662776482574339 …

If we keep to the current pace we'll equal that number by next week. I say "current pace" because the pace keeps accelerating.

That's all the more impressive since Afghanistan has 10 million fewer people living in it than Vietnam did in 1975.

Afghanistan has 38 million people, South Vietnam had fewer than 20 million in 1974, the year before the US left.

Also I like how you dodged the fact that we're going to match the number of Vietnamese refugees that came over the course of years in two weeks.

How is your forecast a fact? Check back in in two weeks' time if you want to talk facts.

Well it's a fact that we've evacuated 50k people over the course of a week & it's also a fact that the pace of evacuation has accelerated over that time.

It's also a fact that Afghan nationals are not being let into the airport.

So the 50k Afghans who have been evacuated came from where? The studio where they faked the moon landing?

It's not 50K Afghans who have been evacuated, that figure is the total number of people. I'm tapping out of talking to you because you can't seem to get numbers straight.
