A little curious why there's both turboprops AND jets on there?
It's a testbed plane. I think one set of engines is for flying and the other is for testing the nuclear reactor.
We also had a missile powered by an unshielded reactor that would leave fallout all the way to its target
Wasn't there a couple reports of the RU doing that lately? within the last few years..
The reactors they developed for that program were incredible. A derivative design was impossible to meltdown because the coolant and fuel were already high-temperature fluids at normal atmospheric pressure.
