Don't you think it honestly describes the lack of long-term prospects for a whole set of shitty service jobs? I consider the honest language is an expression of support for the person doing that work, not an attack on their worth.
Okay, but I think there's also a phenomenon in our social media and politics where policing language substitutes for meaningful attempts to fix the referent. And lending dignity is always the reason given for turning on the euphemism treadmill, which just makes the jobs suck more
