Today the thing I'm choosing to be overspecifically annoyed by is people who are obsessing about benzene in sunscreen but don't wear hazmat gear when fueling their car (gas is full of it). Benzene is pretty benign. Choose a career where you don't breathe it daily and chill out.

Most of what we learned about occupational exposure over 50 years: 1. Feed anything to a rat in big enough quantities and it gets cancer. 2. Don't work in unventilated spaces with stuff

I see a lot of people on this site not taking advantage of useful anxiety lifehacks. For example, if you're up every night panicked about runaway global warming, there's no need to worry about what's in your kids' food.

Years ago saw a news report about carcinogens in dryer sheets. One of the carcinogens listed being ethanol … I did not listen to the rest of the report. At that time my average Friday evening involved more ethanol exposure than I would get from a lifetime of dryer sheets.
