It's time to stop reporting on record fundraising hauls (or shortfalls) as if they were a proxy for any candidate's political prospects. Social media has entirely decoupled fundraising ability from vote winning ability.

I’m surprised there haven’t been many candidates taking these donations and using them on direct aid in lieu of enriching media companies with ad buys. I’ve heard that AOC’s campaign has run food banks and the like. That’s got to be more effective at drumming up support, right?
