In human history, only colonialism can hold up to communism in terms of the greatest misery inflicted on the greatest number. But sure, leadership dysfunctions.

I got the sense you have a personal grudge with communism, but it shouldn’t let you lose sight of the fact that in terms of misery scale colonialism is far ahead of communism, if anything because it is still ongoing while most communism attempts have been thoroughly beaten out.

I don’t think one can really compare something that was prominent for a big part of the 20th century with something that is more than 400 years old and still going strong today.

I definitely agree with the difficulty of defining either, and that’s why my compared chronology was rather vague as well. But then why mention communism at all instead of specifying it’s only about the PRC rule?
