The Gulf of Mexico is on fire, it's 112 degrees in Portland, roads and rails are crumbling from the sun, wildfire and hurricane season are here in record time and people are concerned about the cost of going green. COMPARED TO WHAT?

Even if it was impossible to fix this, we can surely do better.
-
Yeah. I get the feeling of hopelessness but even if it feels impossible we have to do what we can to try and solve it.

The situation continues to become worse more quickly than we anticipate. Is it not possible that with sufficient change, things could be mitigated more quickly than we anticipate? In my opinion the effort must be made before we declare defeat.
-
It is not possible. Sufficient effort will not be made.

We cannot fix this mess but we can give us more time temporarily than if we did nothing.

I’m very afraid you’re right, no plan can fix where we are. It’s too late already.(now watch the anti-vaxxers comment “Oh, no, you’re exaggerating!” No, I’m not.

Utter nonsense. It’s not even hard to fix. All we have to do is use renewable energy and move to circular economies. Combine that with carbon capture and problem solved.

I mean, we can build roads / rail that don’t crumble, and cables that don’t melt. I wonder if we can do anything to save places like Miami.
