I’m really unhappy about the non-existing support (no e-mail answers or response at Twitter) of the online bookmark services @Pinboard *, @raindrop_io * and @diigo — and I really depend on these services.
Anybody has a tip or suggestion?

Hey Yoram—for my part I'm sorry, I thought I had replied to your message (there were a lot of similar ones). The behavior you describe is an anti-bot measure I had to put into place to keep the site from collapsing under aggressive crawling. I will lift it as soon as I am able.

Thanks for your reply. Any time frame for the lift? I really depend on sharing my bookmarks by tags.

I've been lifting it every day to see if the site gets slammed, and unfortunately it always happens. Whoever is doing the distributed crawl is persistent (or just left it on autopilot). I'm looking for alternative ways to make the public parts of the site visible to all again.

For most of the history of the site, anyone who was crawling it very hard was easy to block by IP address or range, or other patterns. This fully distributed crawling is a new development from within the past two months :-(
