Watching my computer-intimidated mom struggle with the disappearing scrollbars on a Mac desktop is filling me with rage at Apple. Why does it require a click frenzy and wild mouse waving to have basic UI elements appear?

Calling it (rightly) an accessibility thing is unfortunately the only way to get change on these cute UI problems they create.

it's absolutely an accessibility thing, where 'accessibility' means accessible to users used to Windows no shade at all, different UI paradigms are sticky and hard to change I use scroll bars for one thing: to glance at to know how big a pane is
