The two things people need to know about cryptocurrency are completely non-technical: 1. If it doesn't work, it's just an easy to lose casino chip 2. If it works, it creates an end run around all financial regulation, and will be dominated by uses those regulations try to stop

Fantastic thread. While many of us spent the last decade loathing the banking system after the 2008 calamity, the cryptomania leaves me feeling even more nauseous and clamoring backwards.

Great thread. I work in a tech company supposed to hire the best engineers on the planet. We have internal chats full of people balls-deep in crypto, talking about how Bitcoin is gonna replace SWIFT and so on.

To be sucked into crypto you need to be ignorant of either technology and/or economy. Just so that propaganda can fill the gap. The adressable market is still surprisingly large. Naturally you can also just be ethically-challenged and shamelessly peddle with ponzis.

So much gibberish and absolute nonsense in this threat that I don’t know where to start. Sounds smart but it’s actually incredibly ignorant and simpleminded. Either that or extremely intellectually dishonest and mischievous.
