Hear you on all this but to be honest, we should probably should operate as both origin stories are true, since either could be. Simple fact it’s still murky means we should take the same steps as if it was clearly lab leak; lack of transparency show it’s clear risk either way.

I agree with you, but it will also be important to run this down to ground (even as it takes some time) because the answer has enormous implications on how we do future research.
