I think this, by @crookedfootball, is mostly mistaken. I don't think Western popular nationalisms are much conditioned by a desire to sustain relative advantage over foreigners any more than football hooliganism is. Yes. Oddly, I think
@crookedfootball's case is strong at an elite level. The Steve Bannons of the world I think do see a West struggling to sustain advantage in a sea of others. But I think working class elements perceive themselves as fighting frm loss, not protecting advantage. -
