Who could have guessed in 2020 that the virus lab where they study the virus that caused the pandemic in the city where the pandemic started should not be immediately dismissed as a possible origin for the pandemic.

For them to be 'vindicated' the independent report would have to confirm that the virus was created in the lab and that China knew it and decided to hide it. Is it a possibility? Sure. But I very much doubt anyone could prove either of those three assertions.
