To be clear, my anxiety is for what happens after a couple of months of reopening, particularly going into the new school year. I don't think there's a big push right now for things to stay closed, but variants and a rebound in cases could change that dynamic by September
From my perspective most overeducated elites have been vaccinated, and likely the remaining holdouts are pushing for children to be vaccinated.
I honestly don't know—perceptions of covid are so uneven and everything depends on where you find yourself, and the stories you hear.
I think the elites are as sick of this crap as everyone else and I can't see a push to reinstate restrictions and closures unless case counts reverse their downward trend.
That unless is the thing I'm worried about. The case counts might go up this summer as everything reopens, and then there will be a chance of a lot of tension
