Inflation is in fact zero if you remove all volatile prices from the index, and I'm surprised the Washington Post shied away from this optimistic finding.

Isn't there a good argument that the recent spike in gasoline prices isn't due to a decrease in the purchasing power of dollars but as a result of short term supply disruption and resultant panic buying from the cyber attack?

And before that you had disruption from the Texas cold snap, and you've got a spike in demand due to lockdowns endings.
