That advice makes a big assumption about writing being easier than editing. I personally don't find that the case.

Yeah, I had an epiphany once when I realized that elite athletes feel exactly the same exhaustion after breaking a world record that I do after climbing the stairs. Their subjective experience of all-out effort is the same as yours or mine. It's just that we suck
