The work culture at rich tech companies (people read something upsetting in the news and want to discuss and 'process' it on company time) is so alien from most people's experience of work that it makes me despair for ever finding common ground with the actual working class

Do you think we’ll find that common ground by more tech workers joining the working class or the opposite? How do tech workers find common ground with the working class if the people who do break into tech from the working class can’t say anything “societal or political”?

I think we all understand that the ban on 'societal or political' speech means a pretty baroque ideological worldview prevalent in our industry that arrivals from the working class or outside the tech world already have to struggle to learn

The baroque ideological worldview of "wait do we really have a list of foreign names we find funny"

Foreign is a very US-centric term
