Mail in voting is pretty damn good and has known failure modes. It's also easier for constituents to understand and trust. I'd be open to digital voting, but let's get to a known-good baseline first and compare against THAT. Heck, let's stop actively suppressing voters, first.

Naturally, but the paper - cited by Matt - says that malware is the greatest threat, not non-technical domains. I'm saying that the threat from malware is overblown. That said, there are still other good arguments against it.

Did you even bother to read the section that contains that sentence? It doesn't sound like you did. Again, if you want to learn about elections security, the NASEM report is an excellent reference. But you have to actually read it.

Also, the idea that removing friction is always a net positive has been proven wrong many times before. Having Apple (or anyone else) YOLO fundamental changes to voting would show that we've learned nothing from all the previous disruptors who fucked up something trying to fix it
