Happy to say the response otherwise has been overwhelming and gratifying. Big thanks to all the old-timers who have converted their account so far!

I happily converted. I'm curious what percentage of people have.
I haven't run the numbers yet but it's been a lot; way more than I expected. It's been really gratifying!
This is basically my relationship with Dropbox, except for the part where I'm thinking about paying
Any chance you'd offer some kind of discounted plan for long-time low-volume users? I've been a member for almost a decade, and always want to support the software I use, but I realistically don't get $22/yr of value out of it.pic.twitter.com/vnBBjEFrOj
In your situation I would cling to the original arrangement!
I converted because I frankly would be lost without Pinboard. (But somehow the best of perks, a flaming emoji, is gone!)
It will be back—it's part of a responsive redesign so the old pages still don't have it.
Prompted by this tweet I tried to upgrade my plan (I've stayed on the one-time payment thing, like a coward) and I can't find how to upgrade. There's a prompt to subscribe but once I'm logged in I can't find anything about plans.
(it feels really weird to talk to the pinboard account for support on pinboard)
