I'm not up on SSC at all, just very suspicious of it. But it did remind me that an SSC adherent said to me that rationalism means not being too concerned with the manner of death from COVID, because our last days are the moments we will least recall and reflect upon. Chilling!

This was right as the pandemic was beginning, and it was it was said in a "You don't really have to worry about the painful death" way ... and a specific recommendation to read SSC. Is this representative? It felt very disassociated.
