We get it. Nothing short of Republicans firing on Ft. Sumter is cause for concern.

Republicans firing on Ft. Sumter would be a pretty big 180

What I am trying to get across to you is that your understanding of what is driving the U. S. political situation is fundamentally out of sync with the main drivers. That means you are underestimating the risks here.

I get it, three coups before breakfast and another for lunch. But I bet you the formal Electoral College vote on Monday goes on unimpeded and without a fuss, and on through the swearing in and so on

You have a very weird definition of "without a fuss."

The fuss here is political theater targeted at a specific audience. When I go to see a play and someone gets shot in Act IV, my decision about whether to call 911 is going to depend very heavily about whether it takes place on stage or out in the audience.

Who do you believe the audience to be? And what do you think these actions will do to that audience’s appetites and expectations moving forward?

I expect these actions to lead to a comfortable Republican majority in the next election.

And in the event there is not a comfortable Republican majority, do you think the audience will be inclined to accept those results or will demand increasingly outrageous action?
