Nope, you're wrong. We have it, actually something more complex, here in Ireland (PR-STV). It's great, wouldn't have it any other way. It might promote centerism, but it avoids the false dichotomy that First-past-the-post creates

I grew up in Australia and ranked choice voting is really straightforward. Everyone manages to vote just fine. It's far less confusing than having to vote on all these initiatives and judges and dogcatchers like I have to in California.
