A nice illustration of how PACs are a legal form of grift comes this month from Brianna Wu's RebellionPAC, a "Clean PAC fighting for progressive, working class values across the country." Like everyone else, RebellionPAC cleaned up in Q3, bringing in over $150K in donations

In that period, the PAC spent $94,140, but only $11,200 of this went to candidates. The rest was spent on media production, bank and legal fees ($9,165), email lists ($5,125), entertainment ($1,111) and $17,806 that Wu paid herself out of PAC funds for "strategic consulting"

If this is pretty normal, why pick on Brianna Wu? She's been shat on so many times by gamergate assholes, you're just opening the floodgates again by singling her out.

I pick on her because I think she's a political grifter

okay, I mean I get the griftiness of it which is dodgy af, but it just seems a bit token if there are lots of people doing this

BW doesn't need me sticking up for her, but: aren't there worse grifters you could be taking on? I mean, $17K is barely even fucking there in the context of US corruption. (You're gonna say "that $17K should have gone to candidates", and I don't have a good rejoinder.)

It's a brand new PAC that targets the same audience I do, for the same goals, so it's particularly easy for me to understand. If you have others you think fit this descriptin, i'm all ears. My argument is not that the $17K should have gone to candidates, but the entire $150K!
