Bernie urging Biden to campaign with AOC (the devil incarnate in places we need to win) suggests to me we may have dodged a bullet by not nominating Berniehttps://www.independent.co.uk/us-election-2020/bernie-sanders-biden-trump-2020-election-aoc-polls-b433909.html …

Why should they court the mythical suburban republican with a heart? Isn't it a safer idea to mobilize the diverse and disenchanted base who didn't even vote in 2016? Biden shouldn't distance himself from the future of the democratic party anyways.

The problem with mobilizing people that don't vote as your strategy is that they don't vote, as Bernie found out a couple of times now

That's in the primaries not the general, the centrists that Biden is hinging his bets on didn't show up to vote for Hillary in 2016 either

The Democrats are running the exact same play and according to polls Trump is close enough to win again. He should not be this close given COVID, unemployment, and the economy right now as an incumbent

I don't see the fault in suggesting a radical new tactic, the old one doesn't work!

It's going to be a close election no matter what because you are asking a group of people to cede power who know they'll never get it back. Biden is probably running as well as anyone can against that
