True, but the last minute volunteers did help. We hit doors 3 times each that day. Mind you, this was Cleveland/East Cleveland, so it was really a GOTV operation at that point. Vastly different than the campaigns you are (rightfully) raising for.

I've done the election day door knocking myself and know it can be intensely gratifying. I remember driving a 90+ year old lady to the polls and how good that made me feel. But I had some personal experiences too that made me skeptical of how much we fetishize this activity
