Want to have an actual impact? Give money. It's a terrible thing to tell a Puritan country. I know everyone would rather live in the world where last-minute phone calls from out-of-state college students reading from a prepared script win the election.

Where do you give this money to? I'm so glad you asked! Here's a long list of competitive state campaigns in key swing state districts that in most cases have been outraised by their incumbent Republican opponent, and have budgets on the order of $100K.https://secure.actblue.com/donate/state_slate_omnibus …

And on this note, I'm happy to say we just got a $10K matching challenge for the "State Slate Omnibus"—that is, the full list of 41 state candidates we've been fundraising for since the start of the summer. Next $10K donated get matched dollar for dollar!https://secure.actblue.com/donate/state_slate_omnibus …

Oh, and I almost forgot—do you want to volunteer somewhere where it *does* make a difference, even at the last minute? BE A POLL WORKER.
@mattblaze has tweeted about this over and over, and it may be the best US electoral advice you can find on TwitterShow this thread -
Oh man, I really triggered last minute door-knocking Twitter with this thread. I know I don't vote on a pandemic Election Day until I see politics mormons show up on my doorstep!

We're now just $2,145 from meeting the matching challenge on the State Slate Omnibus—the whole list of 40-something candidates we've supported since the summer. Every buck you give is joined by another, for the next 2 grand or so.https://secure.actblue.com/donate/state_slate_omnibus …

This is totally not true. Working polls, getting people to the polls - these are meaningful right up to the end. Plus, as sad as it is, still many undecideds or people that can be convinced to participate that may not otherwise.
-
Yeah, see lower in the thread about poll work being the one exception.

Nobody's denigrating such tactics for getting out the vote; the point is that last-minute volunteering is an ineffective way to do it compared to giving campaigns the resources to train up people to do it well
