The key point here is not cynicism but a recognition that people who have a certain vision of America know they will not get their power back if they cede it now, and Trump is flawed but reliable champion. Very similar to how the old south kept a lock on the Senate for a century

Lots of stuff we can do here (win the Senate!), but it requires understanding that pinning another scandal on Trump until he collapses under their sheer weight is not a viable electoral strategy no matter how much it is persuasive to our own side. The 2018 plan was better!

I can understand that you don't think these scandals matter; but I can't get from there to winning. They don't seem to be landing their punches on Biden they way they landed them on Hillary.
-
I think it's a do-or-die election and the attacks on Biden don't matter much either. I think people see him as a 78 year old guy who is just supposed to put an acceptable face on the Green New Deal and sharia socialism, gun confiscation, and so on

If Trump only wins 42% of the vote it'll be one of the largest landslide losses of the past 50 years.
-
I mean the 42% as Trump's hard floor in popularity, not as his share of the vote
