Coal and gas are also, very likely, in equilibrium in long enough horizon. Just like with trees that doesn’t matter.

I get that, but an equilibrium is only useful if the period is small enough. Otherwise small perturbations can re-destabilize it. So, carbon netural over [x] years. Depending on x this is either good or bad news.
