People who've been following along know about the Great Slate, our fundraising effort to help win the Senate by giving money to key rural House campaigns in competitive states. It's an indirect strategy based on the premise that Senate campaigns can't usefully absorb more money.

I woke up yesterday thinking it was November 4 and we had won it all. Then I remembered I was still quarantined and it was only Labor Day. Count me in again

Looking at these states raises a couple of strategic questions. First, why IA-04 which Cook doesn't rate competitive instead of IA-02 and IA-03 which they do? Second, would your strategy benefit from giving to Cooney in the MT gov race as well as Williams for House?

I back IA-4 because that's where the large latent pools of Democratic voters are that no one else is targeting. Our candidate there got 24K more votes than registered Democrats last time; those latent votes will help the Senate race more than adding ads to Des Moines.
