An interesting issue with “defund” (or “reallocation”) in suburbia: many Cook County suburbs are villages _and_, coterminously, townships, with the village owning policing and the township owning many of the services you’d “reallocate” the funding to.

In fairness: River Forest actually has a big forest preserve that is transected by the Des Plaines river. I don’t know where the fuck Oak Park got “Oak” and “Park” from. (Oak Park and River Forest share a high school, OPRF).

How is “River Forest” the absurdity you’re responding to and not COTERMINOUS VILLAGE AND TOWNSHIP? They both have trustee boards!
