I'm open to doing so, but I suspect some sort of pattern holds. Beyond a certain point, the acceleration towards fascism becomes unpredictable, though, and perhaps "ahistorical." Consider how, for instance, the presence of social media might allow radical memes to proliferate.

If anything, I think there's good reason to think we should be more cautious, given the presence of all sorts of accelerants in this setting: besides social media, a fairly mainstream party backing the movement, and the purchase of many wealthy elites.
