I worry that statements like "democracy will still be in grave danger even if Trump is swept out in a landslide" are even more demoralizing than "this is the most important election of our lifetimes". People need to have some urgency to get out and vote this year, imho.

I agree that we all need to act, but I also think the statement "democracy will still be in grave danger even if Trump is swept out in a landslide" is true. I also think it's going to require more than voting, and voting may be neither sufficient nor necessary.
