joe biden attempts to message this constantly - his rhetoric has been very consistently against rioting/looting/vandalism and his VP is an ex prosecutor for christ's sake - and it falls flat because it's a half measure

I think there's an opening here to tie what's happening in cities (and what happened to places like Charlottesville) to Trump's open criminality while in office, and I'm very interested to see if he or Harris go in that direction

maybe, but I'm skeptical that there are republican voters that don't think trump is a corrupt scumbag that can be convinced with the right ad. everyone knows he's a crook, everyone knows he's a wannabe hitler, so you're either ok with that or your aren't

The thing that I learned in 2018 that I'm still having trouble internalizing is that there is no bottom to how little people know about stuff, or how weirdly facts and ignorance get mixed up into people's minds.
