It fills me with anxiety that the material that is most persuasive to our opponents is what we single out as self-evidently risible. It suggests a wide gap in our understanding

You're not wrong but it's kinda nice to see an effective reel of highlights so you get a more honest view of the thing overall. It really plays up the strangely weird vibe of it without feeling like it's brutally taking anything out of context.

This is good. The reel highlights exactly how insane it felt, but also highlights my worry that there are real people who believe this. Like the day I heard the first internal speech about how great g+ was, I thought "Oh well this thing is done it's so obviously trash".

There are people ready to believe any lie, and these Trump family members + cronies are ready for them.

The culture war shit seems more effective when it's from people who are not as obviously repellant and absurd as Trump.

It does feel like they have 1000% more energy than Sleepy Joe. But maybe that's all the cocaine.

The view from Sri Lanka. The "COVID signals decline of the West" guy thinks the RNC speeches look really effective at rallying their target audience...https://twitter.com/indica/status/1298149977676546050 …

I wrote that after reading
@Pinboard. I'm not as pessimistic as him, I think it's hard to run against this level of death, unemployment, and poverty. But the fact that he's still competitive means that yes, this batshit message works, and by God is the west in decline.
