The new hotel status quo where you don't have to fight a daily struggle with housekeeping to stay out of your room benefits both parties and I hope outlasts the epidemic. The part where they strip all the dishes from the mini kitchenette claiming 'hygiene' I'm not a fan of.

The one other hotel change I'd like to see is moving check-in and front desk outdoors where feasible, rather than having unmasked staff stand behind a plastic partition in an unventilated space all day. It's pointlessly risky to staff members

I’m in the middle of a hastily booked AirBnB stay and I’d kill for some Ikea furniture. All the furniture is ancient-looking and fragile, and the appliances are broken, overly-complex or both. The chairs look like they’d collapse if I look at them funny let alone sit on them.
