So a question for Pinboard users especially. How big should I let an archiving account (or a regular account, for that matter) get before I start to cut people off? I'm talking in terms of bookmarks and terabytes stored. What's a generous allowance for both in your eyes?

100G sounds like, you know, _a lot_.

I'm pleased that my 27GB (collected over 4 years) appears not to fall in a problematic range.

What's the goal? To cut as few (zero?) "legitimate" users off as possible? i.e. just an abuse filter? If so it seems like your limit is ~600GB. ...or something based on a prediction of the size of the largest user at the point you thing you'll run out of space.

Do you store the archives on a compressed filesystem that can dedupe byte sequences across all users? If so I'd expect to see these numbers drop somewhat. In general I'd say at least 250gb though.

Which is ~$60/yr on S3 (before xfer costs), jfwiw.

I'm one of the 134, at ~148GB from 62k bookmarks. I've found it easier to bookmark everything rather than decide for each link. Two Zapier tasks and no scripts. I'd understand a cut off, but would appreciate options to purge largest+oldest archives, pay more, or even self-host.
