For context, this stuff follows a power law like everything else online (so there is no meaningful 'average user'), and I've only had to shut accounts a couple of dozen times over the life of the site, for doing things like firehosing half a million bookmarks into an account.

More context: I have 152 TB of storage, and the average size of a stored bookmark in our fallen age is 1.8 MB

I wanted to say “same as the default limit for Google Drive, which is 15G”, which sounded very high, but holy hell I’m already eating 10G of archive space. 100G!
-
I've got: >100GB = 134 users >200GB = 32 users >300GB = 15 users >400GB = 5 users >500Gb = 2 users (after I cut off the dude with 1.2 TB)

Has anyone made a FUSE module that uses Pinboard as a file system yet?
-
I don't think that specific thing has happened, but I've had people attempt to use it as a backend for stuff in a way that was basically a crappy online database

Looks like I use 23 G, so… uh… at least multiples of that?

It depends on the age of the account, in part – I have 5000 bookmarks, 17GB saved over nearly a decade, but doing the same over a week would be questionable. I reckon 100GB would be a generous limit, and you charge for storage used after that. (Is raw # of bookmarks an issue?)

Raw # of bookmarks is a separate issue, but it also has to be capped or site performance suffers for everyone.

I'd say at least 50G but somewhere between 50 and 100 G seems reasonable. In any case, seeing size of the archived page, and being able to prune them based on that would be a huge help.pic.twitter.com/LX5QZlLyub
