The Chinese government is evil, and one of the few things the Trump Adminstration has done right (however ham-handedly) is to demonize it. Unfortunately this leads a lot of otherwise reflective people to assume that must be wrong or racist by association with his other policies

You can be skeptical of the tactics and motives of the American right, but you must not turn away from the genocidal policy in Xinjiang and the repression all across China, because the people there need the free(r) world to speak out for them.

But this is not a subtle issue, or some moral conundrum you can NPR your way out of. Real antifa fights the Chinese Communist Party, and that means occasionally having to swallow bitter pills like agreeing with Pompeo on something.

Without being obnoxious with this question, is it reasonable to believe that holding the Chinese regime accountable is a good thing, but that Trump’s dumb and racist way of doing it isn’t effective and is actually counterproductive?
