I get a monthly AWS bill of $21. For years I tried to chase down what exactly was running, or stored, that was costing me money. But I've finally come to accept that this is a quantum mechanical phenomenon—like temperature or vacuum energy, an AWS bill can never get down to zero

We're trying to solve that at
@backblaze. Making things easier for storage and figuring out billing. Shouldn't be complicated! -
I'm interested in multimillion dollar deploys that were left running because someone forgot an SSH key, not your meek attempts at helping customers

I get a monthly AWS bill for 55 cents. I have no idea what consistently costs this much, and am convinced that Amazon loses money by running the credit card transaction.

See if you can scale it up enough to bankrupt them. I had an idea about doing this to NYC in the '90s when a jaywalking ticket was $2.

I've been getting a "DreamHost Automatic Rebill DEFERRED" email once a month about a bill for $1.78 of DreamCompute VM time since September 2016.

Once a week, for years, I get these
#AWS threats. I've moved countries, lost 2fa access, credit card expired long ago. Their CS gave up and told me to filter the emails...pic.twitter.com/aNjw5AC4Mx

lolol…is there any way for you to tell if the asset is still live? Like grabbing an object from an S3 bucket or pinging a server?
