Okay, I think I understand better. My answer is that calling Trump voters racist is irrelevant and counterproductive. It also hampers our understanding of people's motives, which is what I call the cartoon version ("I'll vote against my self-interest just to hurt someone")

Right, because racism isn't real. These people don't really impede the lives of non-white people they interact with every day. Is something that white people tell themselves.

also, I never said they were voting against their self-interest. Their self-interest is in knowing that they aren't getting the worst treatment. This is a completely logical viewpoint and Trump voters aren't the only ones using it.
