Unfortunately, Democrats can't campaign on the one true claim that would allay these fears and win them Republican votes—the fact that if elected, we will be completely ineffective in passing any of our agenda, even given a Senate supermajority

And I also don’t think many Americans understand that November isn’t when things will change. If Trump wins through various ways the US will slide further into autocracy. If Trump loses then the GOP will burn everything to the ground before Jan and 30% will know he was robbed.

And the way I respond to those folks is “so really you just want to penalise poor women, since the wealthy can just fly overseas to get an abortion where it will remain legal unless they want to change the law in every other developed country. Why do you hate the poor so much?”
