I've said this before, but the idea that Russia is pursuing a decades-long master plan to destabilize and corrupt the United States from within is the most Russian bit of thinking in American political culture. Almost like it's... a Russian mind virus of some kind! Bozhe moi!

The preoccupation with Russian influence operations (which all evidence suggests do exist!) is just another symptom of people searching for structure and meaning in a really stupid time. The influence operations are likely as bungled as anything else in 2020
