Our second round focuses on two states: Iowa and Arizona. Both have a Republican "trifecta" (that means the party controls both houses of the legislature, plus the governor's office). And both are within reach. In Iowa, we only need to flip FOUR seats to win the state house.

In Arizona, things are even closer. Both the state house and state senate Republican majority were won by a margin of about three thousand votes—total! It will be an incredibly competitive election year. We need to win three senate seats, or two house seats, for a majority there.

Four of our candidates are schoolteachers! Teachers have two things in common: voters love them, and they don't have much money. We can fix this! We also have the mayor of Flagstaff, a working farmer, and a nurse who flies helicopters. Meet them here: https://techsolidarity.org/resources/state_slate_round_two.htm …

The thing I want to stress about these state races is that they are *winnable*. But it is a hard year for local candidates to fundraise. The districts they are aiming to help are hit hard by recession and the pandemic. They cannot do this on their own; we need to pitch in!

The good news is that state race budgets are modest, by political standards. Joe Biden raised $288 million last quarter. For all these candidates put together, we're aiming to raise 1/1000 that amount—about a quarter million bucks in early money, from the tech community.

If you want change in November but don't know where to start, you can't do better than state races! Winning these majorities will mean better health care and education for millions of our fellow citizens. It will secure voting rights and fair redistricting after the 2020 census.

One footnote: for campaign finance law reasons, these donations have to be run as separate transactions, which can occasionally flummox your credit card company. If you have any trouble completing payment, the nice people at
