The important thing to remember with @hkmaplive is that Cook lied to his own employees about the reasons for the ban in an internal email. The app was never used to target police (and spending five minutes with it would demonstrate that such misuse would be impractical)

The question people at Apple should ask themselves is: what else is Cook lying to us about in order to appease China? And then—I don't know, make an angry meme or scratch the titanium wall of the donut HQ or something. I'm not familiar with where dissent goes to die at Apple.
