Anyone else experience PHP and Apache prepending a byte-order mark to output after upgrading to PHP7? I feel like there's some configuration bit I missed, but I can't seem to google my way there.

The context is the Pinboard API was running something ancient like PHP 0.1 on MS-DOS, I finally upgraded to a modern Ubuntu version, and now it's giving me all these byte-order marks for my trouble. (For non-tech people, the BOM is a bit of unicode designed to break everything)
