I'm not supporting this, but to be fair, we do live in a system which makes it possible, beneficial, and even necessary to play both sides of the political game. Until this system changes, the resulting actions will not.

That is manifestly untrue. Neither IBM nor Apple make these kind of political donations, and they do fine.
