This is nuts, the exact opposite of the previously reduced wisdom in rocket control design - build simple, bullet proof, solid state. The last thing you want to see when stuck in space is a software error. And the idea you can simply tap the screen at mach 3 during launch

Crew Dragon launch and reentry are pretty much automated, and the few controls you'd want to operate in that environment have physical backups. The touch screen controls are for orbital maneuvering, particularly docking, which is at very low accelerations over tens of minutes.

i don't see any controls on the touchscreens (help me out if im wrong). looks informational only. if it really does have inputs, that makes it even worse though.

Does it seem odd to anyone else that one set of displays shows 13:46:14 but the other shows 13:46:15? Clock sync between workstations seems too obvious for them to have overlooked...
