I guess this story hasn’t really been covered out of Britain? One of the authors of the English regulations broke those same regulations by driving the length of the country, while he and his household knowingly were infected.
His wife wrote a false account for a newspaper, claiming that they never left their home in London. The UK Government has rewritten guidance on the fly over the last 48 hours to attempt to exonerate him.
Why do you think this is a particularly egregious example of journalism?
One of the most powerful people in my country is in a hypocrisy scandal facing calls to resign. It's about the biggest issue facing us all. There are other stories on our virus response, but this is a big one, and new. You think this isn't a story? Or shouldn't be on front pages?
I think it is a big story; my problem with this mode of coverage is that it's the only story. The British press seems only able to function in megawatt spotlight mode
