What sucks about these photos is not the density but that you have to play Where's Waldo to find anyone wearing a mask.

The fact that all the outrage and shaming is around outdoor activities and not the failure to wear a mask in public shows that we haven't figured out how to communicate risk properly, or absorb lessons from really crowded places in Asia where such mask wearing has been effective.

Beyond this, though, we know the disease spreads unevenly and very preferentially indoors. Telling people they will doom us all by congregating outside and being wrong about it is a great way to create a movement of politically polarized skeptics who won't take any further advice

This number of people, all walking throughout the same space... still seems like a problem to me. It's not as if droplets breathed/coughed/etc. out from these people will immediately drop to the ground like they're made of mercury.

Actually quite a few people wearing masks or neck-kerchiefs they can pull up to go into a store, I'd put it around 30% conservatively.
