I think both countries "crushed" in Eichenwald's framing of what that means. But as you know I believe that they succeeded for some (so far) unknown additional reason, and so I pretty much find the whole idea specious.

(Above figure is Taiwan). Singapore is similar minus imported cases. Vietnam reports zero deaths. I don't get it. All I can think of is that somehow they had already gotten herd immunity, but it would have had to have been way way earlier.
